Just felt like sharing my thoughts on it here, because why not?

Initial impressions are good so far. I thought Vicarious Visions would handle it, but it looks like Beenox is doing it instead. That said, it does seem to reuse a lot of VV's assets from N. Sane. Not that that's a bad thing by any means; they looked very good to begin with.

This is still Activision publishing it, however, so I won't pre-order it. I worry there may be some kinda catch. At the very least, however, it's most certainly a "wait and see" title for me.

Hopefully Beenox does an overall good job on the game. That said, it also would have been nice if there was an entirely new Crash game on the horizon. I do hope that can still happen. At the same time, however, I think this is also appropriate; Crash Team Racing was the last Crash game by Naughty Dog, and N. Sane already covered the majority of their run. This was the last one that needed to be remade to complete the remakes of the Naughty Dog era.

So yeah, basically, my first impressions are good, but since it's Activision, I'm gonna wait and see if there's some kinda catch to this.

I'm just remembering anime companies that were prominent when I was a kid, and I just felt like rambling a bit. If you don't care about any of that, you can stop right here. But if you want to hear me ramble about nothing, carry on.

The anime dubbing companies that were prominent during my childhood were Viz Media, Funimation, 4kids, ADV Films, Manga Entertainment, Bandai Entertainment, Pioneer/Geneon, and, to a lesser extent, Saban. What happened?

Only a few of these are still around. ADV was restructured; Sentai Filmworks is more or less Neo ADV due to being run by many of the same people. I'd say ADV got the happiest ending.

4kids sold their production unit to Konami, got restructered, then shut down; 4K Media, which Konami renamed the production unit, is all that remains of them in any form. And knowing Konami these days, I'll be impressed if they don't get shut down entirely.

Geneon's US division shut down. What was left got sold to Universal Japan, and then got called Geneon Universal before removing "Geneon" from their name entirely and calling them NBC Universal Japan. So they're not even Geneon in name only anymore.

Bandai Entertainment? Stepped out of the industry for reasons I'm not entirely clear on, though it's been said they couldn't adapt to the times. You still see their logo on some Ghost in the Shell DVDs they did with Manga Entertainment (see below), but that's it.

Saban got shut down for a while, but then they kinda got back up for a bit. I don't know what's going on with them now, however.

Manga Entertainment, the US division, hasn't been too active in years. They're still around, but they haven't done much of anything and let many licenses lapse. You still see their logo on reprints of their remaining licenses, but that's it. However, the UK division still seems to be going strong and be fairly active, even if they don't make their own dubs as often, if at all. I recall some rumors of the US division possibly getting back in the game full time, but I'm not holding my breath.

Viz Media and Funimation, however, have managed to remain in business and still seem to do fairly well. Viz is still dubbing anime and publishing manga, and Funimation is still dubbing as they were when they started, and I see little sign of them going away, so hey.

Why do I talk about this? Probably because a part of me misses seeing many of those old logos on store shelves. Some companies like Discotek Media, and even Funimation have done a fine job filling some gaps and giving some licenses from defunct/inactive companies a new lease on life, but I do miss seeing the old companies' logos on a regular basis.

Sorry. Just felt like yakking a bit. If you want to weigh in on the subject and tell me if I messed up somewhere, you can do that. It's just me rambling, really.

I've been active in other places, but around here, I barely do anything. With one such place looking to go the way of the dodo and the other not allowing me to say as much, it looks like this place may be a bit more active. I'm making absolutely zero promises, though.

Let's see what happens, shall we?

So my good buddy :iconfalconvillager: tagged me, and I kinda feel like I ought to answe these questions. So hey, might as well, right?

Now, here are the rules. I don't know if I myself can obey them all, but I'll see what I can do.

RULES:
1. You have to post ALL the rules
2. Answer 12 questions that you have been asked, then create twelve more questions for the others that you tagged to answer
3. Choose 12 people
4. Legitimately tag these 12 people
5. You must do the journal entry
6. You can't say you don't do tags
7. Tag backs are ALLOWED

Mr. Falcon's Questions: (Hopefully, a couple are alright.)
1. What factor of your art do you adore the most?
To be honest? I don't know. I suppose it's the fact that I can draw my favorite characters when I please, and in any style I'd like. Maybe I should revisit those ideas one of these days.

2. What is your favorite hair color?
I've never been real clear on that, to be honest. None of them look bad to me at all.

3. If you were to choose only one franchise to collect merchandise for, what would it be?
Puyo Puyo, of course. It's my main interest, really.

4. Are you a fan of custom plushes, keychains or other stuff?
Yes to all three. I have a custom Amitie plush, I see nothing wrong with custom keychains, and I wouldn't mind owning a custom figure one of these days.

5. If you're good at digital art, what tips do you have for those who want to go digital? If you're not a digital artist, what do you wish to make?
I've very little experience with digital art, and what little I have was limited to editing existing pictures, and using MS Paint to clean some of my eraser marks on some images, so I can't help much. But I do wish to make a picture of Amitie. Just a simple one. I'm a simple guy.

6. Do you have anything to say about the Puyo Puyo series' Amitie?
I've mentioned this elsewhere, but she is my absolute favorite fictional character of all time. She's just too precious, and she's been an important part of my life since 2014. I didn't expect her to be so important when I bought Puyo Pop Fever that fateful day, but she did! Given 2014 was an absolutely horrible year for me? That was the best thing to have happened to me that year, even if I didn't see it at the time.

As for the character herself? She's great! She's nice even to jerkwads, a bit silly, but always well-meaning. I kinda do relate to things not going quite right, though. I also think she's quite pretty regardless of her outfit.

7. What tone/mood do you find yourself using the most with your projects? (Cheerful, comedic, romantic, gloomy, etc.)
It varies, and at this point, I'm happier just participating in someone else's projects. But I do try to be in the right mood for it, but that in itself can be a while.

8. Would ya like a glass of water? ^^
I prefer my water bottled, but why not?

I gotta ask 12 questions myself? I'll give it my best shot.
1. What was your first video game? If you don't remember, you're allowed to give a guess.
2. What is your favorite console? It can be as late as the Nintendo Switch or as early as the oldest console.
3. How do you feel about HD remasters of old games?
4. Halloween is coming; what do you plan on doing that day?
5. What's a game you enjoy that everyone else hates?
6. As a followup to that, what's a game you hate everyone else enjoys?
7. Any shows you wish were on DVD, Blu-Ray or 4K Blu-Ray?
8. What is your favorite book?
9. What purchase have you regretted so much, even after some time has passed, you still feel bad?
10. What is something you like that you feel not enough people talk about?
11. Anything you wish you coukd experience, but haven't been able to or simply never got around to it?
12. And last, but absolutely not least; are you a fan of Puyo Puyo's Amitie? If so, what do you like about her the most?

Alrighty, I'll just tag whoever pops into mind. Don't know who all is active, though, so I'll stick to those I know are. Don't be shocked if I don't fill the quota, of course, especially since I don't know who all has dA accounts. I may edit this later.

She says her family is dying, or imploding, so she's taken up emergency commissions in order to get money to help the situation.

I'd ask for a commission of my own, but PayPal funds say that could be a few days. But I didn't want to do nothing while someone's family is dying!

So if you can, do commission her. She needs it.
